CARNET’s Projects to Shape Future Mobility, Present at the Tomorrow.Mobility World Congress

CARNET was present for another consecutive year at the Tomorrow.Mobility Congress, offering a glimpse into the future of transportation. The event, recognized as a leading platform for the biggest players and innovations in the industry, served as a stage for CARNET to display how the research hub envisions future mobility.

At its booth, CARNET presented through a virtual reality audiovisual the future of mobility, integrating last-mile logistics, drones, and electric vehicles for both public and private use. Through this piece, the research hub showcased various of the projects developed during the last years of activity, including Ecoswap, a battery-swapping project to boost the adoption of electric vehicles; the Last-mile Surfer, a scooter designed for last-mile commuting, and Ona, an autonomous delivery robot for last-mile logistics.

Additionally, Ona was also present at the congress physically as a key component of the LogiSmile project, a collaborative effort between European partners and co-funded by the EIT Urban Mobility, which underwent testing at the UPC- Castelldefels university campus recently. After weeks of piloting this solution, Ona travelled to the congress to be presented at the EIT Urban Mobility booth, capturing the interest and attention of a large number of attendees, and allowing the team to get insights on citizen’s acceptance, one crucial aspect when introducing new technologies into real environments.

CARNET’s presence went beyond the booth, as its team participated in several key sessions at the Tomorrow.Mobility Congress, as we took part in round tables focused on the start-ups from the acceleration projects we manage and participate in, how to achieve gender balance and attract gender-inclusive emerging companies, we discussed how to effectively build LEZ and scale-up our knowledge, and we presented our technological solutions focused on micromobility, among other topics.

CARNET’s consistent participation at the Tomorrow.Mobility Congress during its latest editions signifies its commitment to help build collaborations that move the mobility sector towards a more connected, sustainable, and inclusive future. For the 2024 edition, new projects that are currently flourishing will be presented, arising new opportunities for the team to stablish alliances with other key stakeholders in the field of mobility.
