CARNET Collaborates with Desafía Berlin Immersion Program to Foster Mobility Transformation
CARNET joined forces with the Desafía Berlin Immersion Program to support and accelerate the internationalization process of Spanish start-ups in the mobility and automotive industries. This collaborative effort reflects CARNET’s strong belief in the potential of emerging companies to catalyse transformative changes in the transportation landscape. Through their participation in the mentorship sessions, CARNET is actively nurturing the growth and development of start-ups, fostering innovation, and propelling the future of mobility forward.
Acknowledging the crucial role of start-ups in driving innovation and transformation, CARNET has collaborated for the first time with the Desafía Berlin Immersion Program to fuel progress in the mobility industry. Dr. Laia Pagès, Executive and Research Manager at CARNET, conducted a mentorship session in Berlin where she presented the CARNET and its ecosystem to the participating start-ups, highlighting its deep connection to both industrial and academic partners, creating powerful synergies that bridge their gap and boost innovation in urban mobility.
“Landing in a new country and a different city is not only about technology. Many other issues need to be considered and sometimes start-ups need assistance to have the whole picture”, said Dr. Laia Pagès. She also states that some of the activities developed from CARNET can be very useful for start-ups to attain their goals. An example of this was the first edition of CARNET’s Ecosystem Day celebrated last 1st February at CASA SEAT, Barcelona. In this event, 25 start-ups were selected to attend the networking session and 9 of them pitched their ideas in front of CARNET’s industrial partners.
The Desafía programme has multiple editions, each one of them based in a different city around the world to help start-ups land in new territories. two-week program offers start-ups networking activities with local entrepreneurs, attendance to workshops and seminars, and the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the latest innovation trends, providing the tools and knowledge to help start-ups grow and succeed. Desafía is a public initiative sponsored by ICEX and Red.es that helps Spanish technology companies scale faster and globally.
The upcoming edition of the Desafía Berlin Program will be taking place from October 23rd to November 3rd 2023 and applications are open until the 24th of August. Selected start-ups will have the opportunity to participate in a wide experience, starting with a preparation session in Madrid where introductions, milestone setting, and workshops take place. The main phase will consist of a two-week intensive programme in Berlin, which includes a demo day to provide an opportunity for start-ups to pitch to German investors and corporations. It will conclude with the alumni phase, promoting community building, networking, and creating business and collaboration opportunities.
