Project Purpose and Description
i-MovE proposes a collaborative data space to facilitate access to urban mobility information for all transportation sector stakeholders. This platform will unify, process, and provide integrated, reliable data from both public and private sources across Spain, primarily focusing on Barcelona’s metropolitan area. By offering detailed mobility insights, such as Origin-Destination (O-D) matrices, traffic models, and real-time updates on incidents and traffic signals, the project aims to enhance sustainable, efficient, safe, and equitable mobility.
Additionally, i-MovE will develop and pilot four innovative, scalable solutions—iMovE Demand, iMovE Operator, iMovE Control, and iMovE Priority—designed to optimize vehicle availability, improve public transport operations, and enable better traffic management. Two use cases will test the adaptability and impact of these solutions in urban contexts.
Motivation
The initiative addresses the need for an interoperable mobility system that supports informed decision-making, enhances transportation planning, and ensures equitable access. By analyzing mobility data and fostering collaboration, i-MovE will promote sustainable and efficient transportation solutions, benefiting citizens and stakeholders alike.
The project emphasizes practical implementation, offering tools like demand-driven mobility services and real-time decision-making frameworks for authorities. Through its comprehensive approach, i-MovE aligns with the goals of reducing emissions, optimizing urban transportation, and fostering environmentally sustainable cities.
