ArtMED Unveils .MOBI: A Decision-Support Tool Revolutionizing Mobility on Demand for Euro-MED Regions
Barcelona, April 17, 2026 – The ArtMED project has reached its closing milestone with the official launch of the .MOBI tool, a dynamic decision-support platform designed to transform how Public Transport Authorities (PTAs) plan and implement on-demand mobility solutions.
Empowering Transport Authorities with Data-Driven Insights
The .MOBI tool enables planners and researchers to model Autonomous Mobility on Demand (AMOD) scenarios with precision. By estimating required fleet sizes and analyzing operational costs, authorities can generate actionable investment plans for sustainable mobility.
The tool’s impact has already moved beyond theory, having been officially recognized by the EU Urban Mobility Observatory (ELTIS) and used to produce four concrete investment plans for regional transport authorities.
A Pathway to Inclusive and Low-Carbon Mobility
One of the project’s most significant findings is that the transition to inclusive, low-carbon mobility in sparsely populated areas is now achievable through this validated methodology. By optimizing Demand Responsive Transport (DRT), the project aims to:
- Improve access to public transport for millions in underserved regions.
- Reduce dependency on private vehicles.
- Lower carbon emissions, supporting global net-zero mobility goals.
A Permanent Technological Legacy
Although the ArtMED project officially concluded in February 2026, the .MOBI tool remains accessible online for planners, consultants, and researchers to support future technical studies and sustainable strategies.
