Women in Urban Mobility – Annual Summit

CARNET and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC) are hosting on 19 November at 15:00 CET the Annual Summit of the Women in Urban Mobility Project in Barcelona, which will include a combination of learning and celebration, where project partners from Munich and Sofia will be joining the event.

As the year 2021 draws to a close, so does the first year of the WUM project. During this year, the project partners have developed a fantastic network of people interested in the role of women in urban mobility from a variety of backgrounds, including academia, industry, and public institutions. They have assessed the current situation, challenges, and future vision in collaboration with specialists in the field, disseminating all of the knowledge gained through meetings, workshops, our newsletter, and each partner’s and the EIT UM’s dissemination channels.

The meeting will begin with a recap of WUM’s activities during this first year and a look ahead to 2022. Following that, Maria Tsavachidis, CEO of EIT Urban Mobility, will deliver the keynote speech, which will be followed by a pitch session featuring several women’s organizations involved in urban mobility. Afterward, an interactive workshop on gender awareness in urban mobility will take place. This activity will be facilitated by Col∙lectiu Punt 6, followed by a march along Barcelona’s Diagonal avenue. The session will conclude with a farewell cocktail.

Those who join will have access to a wide range of experiences and information, as well as develop their professional networks, expand their knowledge, gain visibility as players in the local network, and raise awareness about the topic of “Women in Urban Mobility”.
