What Is the Situation of Women in Entrepreneurship in Urban Mobility?
CARNET and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC) will hold a second meetup as a part of the WUM (Women in Urban Mobility) project on 30 September at 17:00 CEST. The aim of this activity is to explore the role of women in entrepreneurship in urban mobility. The meetup will take place in the auditorium of the UPC Vertex building, located at Campus Nord. Additionally, it will be streamed online as well.
Experts on the subject will share their experiences and wide knowledge in an interesting debate from which the assistants will gain a better understanding of the expanding role of women in this fascinating world, become aware of the current context, and gain knowledge on how to deal with these times of crisis and with the future in general.
Daniel Crespo, Rector of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) will open the event, followed by Fredrik Hånell, Business Creation Director (EIT Urban Mobility), will give a small keynote about women’s role in the EIT UM Business Creation programmes. Esther Real, Director of the Barcelona School of Civil Engineering (UPC), will moderate the panel discussion between Mar Alarcón, Social Car CEO, Cristina Aresté, Head of Innovation Management Service at UPC, and Miquel Martí, CEO of Barcelona Tech City, finishing with a round of open questions. As the icing on the cake, a networking coffee will take place, taking advantage of the fact that we can meet face to face again, always following COVID-19 safety measures
This event is part of WUM, a project aiming at creating discussions that will spark and fuel your interest in urban mobility while raising awareness for gender-specific topics, as our goal is to give our field a more plural perspective. With these activities, we try to fill in a gap regarding the lack of networks where women who are dedicated to urban mobility issues can find support, grow, learn or simply be.
WUM is funded by the EIT Urban Mobility in its BP2021 Call for Proposals for the Education area. CARNET conforms the consortium together with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC), UnternehmerTUM, and JA Bulgaria.
