Description and Motivation

In recent years, digital twins have revolutionised the engineering world as a result of sensor and data advancements. However, despite the prevalence of simulation models, complete digital twins are uncommon in the mobility sector, due to a lack of general knowledge on the topic. Through digital twins, professionals can create virtual replicas of real-world systems. These dynamic simulations enable precise monitoring, predictive analysis, and streamlined management of transportation networks, if applied to our field. By incorporating real-time data, digital twins allow cities to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and improve urban mobility.

The goal of this project is to design a course and to impart knowledge on simulation and sensor technologies to mobility professionals. In this project, both academic and industry experts will collaborate to develop a comprehensive course on digital twin technology that is work-compatible and primarily based on practical examples and use cases.
