On the 14th of November, CARNET once again hosted the Symposium on Urban Mobility Challenges. With urban mobility being the key focus behind the CARNET initiative, the symposium was founded to connect and network with other researching parties in this field to exchange information, ideas and current topics and findings. This year, the symposium has once again enabled multinational participants to engage with each other and turned out to be a truly fascinating and insightful event. inLane aims to develop technology solutions able to provide lane-level positioning information on vehicle´s navigation systems. These solutions will reduce the risks associated with the lane change maneuvers and will enable mapping in much more detail based on crowd-sourcing.

safeMO, an Altran project to improve motorbike safety

By integrating sensors and using technologies such as Big Data, Cloud Computing and the Internet of Things, safeMO aims to improve the experience and safety of riding a motorcycle. Collected information is analyzed and shared via a user-friendly interface that provides warnings and advice to the rider.

SEAT and Barcelona enter agreement

SEAT and the Barcelona Council have officially established an agreement to actively work together on topics such as innovation, sustainable mobility and talent attraction. The first project to come out of this agreement is the establishment of the Metropolis: Lab Barcelona project. This being the sixth IT-lab of the Volkswagen Group underlines the important position of Barcelona as a location for future mobility concepts.
