KINEO joins CARNET

We welcome Kineo Mobility Analytics (www.kineo- analytics.com) as a new CARNET industrial partners. Kineo is a research-intensive technology company that analyses anonymised geolocation data from mobile devices and blends them with other data sources to provide mobility and travel demand information. Kineo is a joint company by Nommon Solutions and Technologies (www.nommon.es) and Luis Willumsen (www.luiswillumsen.com), which brings together Nommon’s capabilities in big data processing and spatio-temporal data analysis with Luis Willumsen’s recognised expertise in transport and traffic modelling.

Kineo works in partnership with mobile network operators in different countries, which provide anonymised mobile phone records that are then processed by Kineo and blended with other data sources to estimate population distributions, trip matrices and other activity and mobility statistics. Since its creation in 2015, Kineo has completed more than 40 projects in which mobile phone records have been successfully used to produce travel demand information for both public (transport authorities, statistical offices, etc.) and private customers (transport operators and concessionaires, consultants, etc.).
KINEO has contributed as a project partner in the Virtual Mobility Lab, recently presented during the Smart city expo.
