The E+ Mobility Accelerator Programme Welcomes 12 Start-ups

From over 70 applications from all over Europe and associated countries, the E+Mobility consortium has selected the 12 most promising start-ups within the fields of energy, micromobility, and shared mobility to be part of the first edition of the E+ Mobility Accelerator Programme. This project is financed by the EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.

The selected companies will benefit from individualized mentoring, training, expert workshops, free office space, product and technology validation with access to a network of living labs, and access to EIT Urban Mobility investment initiatives and funding instruments, among other benefits provided by the international consortium partners.

All the teams and their dedicated founders are solving mobility-related problems with innovations that make our lives easier and happier. Learn more about the start-ups from the first E+ Mobility Accelerator Programme edition and how they are transforming urban mobility to adapt it to society’s needs.

Meet the 12 participants:

  • Bavertis: A software-based power electronics for e-vehicles that increases battery lifetime and range, reduces costs and allows battery analytics. As it’s bidirectional the vehicle can be used for grid stabilization in smart grid applications.
  • CityQ: They develop a solution to make cycling comfortable for everyone, independent of weather, car traffic and parking regulations. Their eBike brings users car-like comfort and technologies, the capability to transport children safely and the ability to carry additional luggage.
  • DeepDrive: A groundbreaking new electric motor that enables them to build completely plug & play vehicle platforms. They provide them to upstarting vehicle makers so they can develop their vehicle concepts much faster and cheaper.
  • Deftpower: They are developing an Automotive Charging Platform that will turn EV drivers from electricity consumers into suppliers of electricity and storage. This will be done through their charging app and platform.
  • Fronyx: They help public charging providers to make the most out of public electric vehicle charging infrastructure by balancing utilization, reducing costs of energy procurement, and generating more revenues with dynamic pricing. They achieve this through their AI-as-a-Service platform, which provides simple access to cutting-edge data science for EV charging.
  • GoCleer: They provide a new mobility insurance category for people who move in different forms of transportation from cars, e-mopeds, e-kick scooters and bicycles. Their system has a people-centric approach that uses mobility data allowing them to design modular coverages and optimize pricing models.
  • Hergele Mobility: They empower entrepreneurs to launch their shared mobility fleets worldwide and support the operational process, with their all-inclusive shared mobility fleet packs. They provide the IoT integrated vehicles, connect them to the platform, and convert the white-label software to the client’s brand.
  • Honeycomb Network: They develop the world’s first universal and app-controllable, smart-charging locker pods for private e-scooters. The goal is to operate a network of secure pods in cities across Europe to eliminate theft and enable clean urban transport.
  • Hydrogen Alfa: They have designed a composite overwrapped pressure vessel for 70MPa (700bar, 10.000psi) in a conformable flat shape to store H2. Their innovation provides a flat fuel tank underfloor with much compatibility with the existing BEV (battery electric vehicle) structure.
  • Luna: They develop ADAS technology for micro-mobility. Their computer vision governs the exact position of the vehicle in real-time, keeping it in the correct lane/away from pedestrians. Luna gives ‘ground truth’ where GPS only gives a best guess.
  • VI&GO: They develop a B2B subscription to the next generation swapping, charging and management stations for light electric vehicle batteries, providing a smart, modular, and sustainable infrastructure. Through an algorithm and software, they manage smart charging of batteries, creating the possibility of having available batteries for delivery and transportation workers 24h/a day.
  • Zipforce: They have developed a portable electric motor that turns any regular bike into an electric bike. Smart technology combined with Swedish engineering that creates a sustainable, affordable, and fun way to electrify existing bikes.

During the upcoming months, the consortium will support these teams that solve urban mobility-related problems that affect citizens across our cities through a programme that will conclude in December with a Demoday event to showcase their solutions.

The consortium is led by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC) in collaboration with CARNET, Barcelona City Council, Barcelona Activa, CTAG – Automotive Technology Center of Galicia, UPF Ventures, Ferrovial, Connected Mobility Hub, CERTH and ENEA.
