CARNET to Lead and Take Part in Four Start-up Acceleration Programmes
- CARNET will lead the SME Hub Programme and participate in the E-Mobility Accelerator, 5G Turbo Programme, and UAM Accelerator
- The Acceleration programmes have the goal of boosting urban mobility start-ups by offering acceleration services and pilots in major European cities
CARNET will be the leader of the consortium that will implement the SME Hub Programme in 2022, which can be considered the continuation of the ScaleTHENGlobal Programme that took place last year. This programme, funded by EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union, will aim at boosting promising urban mobility scale-ups by offering them to test their products with a pilot as an answer to different challenges raised from cities and industry partners in major European cities.
Another programme we will be taking part in the E-Mobility Accelerator, led by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC). This programme can be considered a continuation of the EIT Urban Mobility Hub South Acceleration Program, this time with a specific focus on mobility, energy, micromobility, and shared mobility thematic fields. Its main objective is to accelerate the introduction of start-ups in the market while helping cities and companies solve their challenges faster and more efficiently. Participants will have access to living labs, mentoring sessions, and exposure to potential investors.
Led by Mov’eo, the 5G Turbo is another accelerator where CARNET will be participating in 2022. This activity will support 20 start-ups working on 5G technologies and services applied to the field of urban mobility. The programme will build an online open community through which industry, cities, and future mobility stakeholders will interconnect at cross-national level. The programme will support these connections between start-ups, industry, and cities for technology and market validation, through networking, access to living labs, and acceleration services.
Lastly, CARNET will also participate in the Urban Air Mobility Accelerator, led by Toulouse Metropole. This will support start-ups that are developing new and innovative products in developing business and a strategy to reach cities and, ultimately, unleash the potential of Urban Air Mobility. It will facilitate the growth of start-ups under Toulouse Metropole’s existing “B612” flagship accelerator and incubator center. Start-ups will receive regular mentoring, investment sessions, living lab access, citizen feedback, and expert interaction.
During the first trimester of 2022, the call for participants will open for all of these programmes. Companies, public administration representatives, and potential investors will be invited to join these accelerators in order to boost all the participating start-ups, providing business opportunities for them through the created synergies.
