CARNET Insights on Future Mobility Is the New Monthly Initiative by CARNET in Collaboration with CASA SEAT
CARNET, in collaboration with CASA SEAT, is starting a new series of events called “CARNET Insights on Future Mobility”. Monthly sessions will bring together insights from mobility experts and key stakeholders in the sector. The first session will be taking place on 15 February at 18:30 at CASA SEAT with a debate dedicated to discovering the latest innovations in the on-demand transport sector.
During the first event, Lidia Signor, Combined Mobility Manager at the International Association of Public Transport (UITP); Gerard Martret, CEO and founder of the mobility platform Shotl; Miquel Estrada, professor and head of the EIT Urban Mobility initiative at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC), and Sergi Vila, Chief Operations Officer at SEAT:CODE will share knowledge and their expertise over the topic: Transport On Demand (ToD) Innovation.
Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) started many decades ago, primarily targeted towards people with reduced mobility or elder citizens, providing independent mobility for those who are challenged when using other transport modes. Therefore, it is a democratizing tool that improves user experience and inclusiveness by providing more equitable access to transportation. Additionally, it can also be a tool for connecting rural areas to other communities, as public transport options do not reach some areas.
According to Lidia Signor, who will moderate this first session, “Demand Responsive Public Transport has become a must-have in the toolkit of many public transport operators and authorities. Its agile implementation to satisfy changing mobility needs requires attentive change management for relatively complex projects. Clear objectives and partnerships are key.”
The idea behind this project is to give a stage to local and international mobility experts, public authorities, and private companies to discuss highly demanded topics in the sector of urban mobility. During the year, CARNET will organize ten mobility talks, discussing and analysing popular mobility topics such as active mobility, new data sources for mobility planning and management, urban mobility start-ups, autonomous driving, etc.
The event will be held in English. You can get your ticket for free here:
