CARNET Has Been Awarded the Bronze Award for the Autonomous Driving Challenge During the 2022 Edition of the Eventoplus Awards

CARNET was recognized with the bronze award during the 2022 edition of the Eventoplus Awards for the Autonomous Driving Challenge 2021, taking place during the Smart City Expo World Congress in 2021. The award was honored in the “Best Participation in Trade Fairs” category, competing against some of the largest event organizations in the industry. The ceremony was held in Madrid on 20 September, in a venue with more than 600 assistants. There, CARNET had the opportunity to both grow its network in the events sector and demonstrate the high level of public impact that can be reached by a research and innovation institution.

The Autonomous Driving Challenge (ADC) competition, developed with the support of Volkswagen Group Innovation and SEAT S.A., was held on November 16, 17, and 18 during the Smart City Expo in Barcelona. Four teams from Spanish universities (UMA Garage from the University of Málaga, Gromep, from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, UNIZAR from the Polytechnic University of Zaragoza, and URBots, from the Rovira i Virgili University) competed for the podium in this third edition, ultimately won by the team from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Through this event, CARNET wanted to boost autonomous navigation technology by strengthening young national talent and also offering students the opportunity to establish first contact with potential employers.

The Eventoplus awards look for the most innovative and unique events held in Portugal and Spain each year. A variety of categories are given out, from cultural events to product announcements, honoring the top venue providers.
