CARNET at the ITS event

The second of February 2017 saw a new edition of the Catalonian ITS congress on mobility topics. Hosted at the RACC automobile club in Barcelona, the congress was once again attended by highly regarded experts in the field. CARNET was invited by ITS Spain to attend this prestigious event.

ITS Spain was founded as a non-profit association in 2002 as a forum of new technologies in transportation. ITS aims to bring together public, private and academic sectors to exchange ideas on and help create future mobility and transportation solutions through congresses and meeting points such as this most recent event.

The congress was divided into two sessions. The first included discussions on the topic of mobility as a service, whilst the second took a closer look at connected mobility and new tools for mobility management. Both sessions featured prominent figures and speakers such as former CARNET academic director and Professor Emeritus at the UPC Jaume Barceló Bugeda, and MaaS Global CEO Sampo Hietanen, who shared a wide range of ideas and opinions.

This event was a great opportunity for CARNET to reconnect with existing contacts, create new ones, and share and discuss ideas.
